welcome the rain.

living in juneau, alaska has its perks.
like the fact that it is a rain forest.

who wouldn't like rain almost 365 days a year?

well, i could probably count a couple people...or possibly more than a couple.

i, however, enjoy the rain. my favorite thing to do when it is raining is go on a drive. i love the sound of the rain against the windshield and the drops that seem to blur the surroundings and paint a picture.

not only is this a beautiful sight, but it brings a beautiful reminder.

isaiah 55: 10-11
"for as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and break to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty but it shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it."

remember that one time you prayed with your friend who is not a believer?
remember that one time you were teaching sunday school to the rambunctious first graders and felt like they weren't listening?
remember that one time you sent that passage of scripture to a friend?
remember that one time where you were supposed to have a lesson planned and winged it?

you  succeeded.
Jesus succeeded.

i find it beyond encouraging to know that as the rain and snow come down in juneau, alaska, my Heavenly Father is using me as His vessel to sprinkle His Word across the earth.

God is good. All the time.
All the time. God is good.

He never sleeps. He never slumbers.

Welcome the rain.
